All the creatures in the world experiences four inevitable stages: birth, growth, aging and death.

As time goes by, the physical flesh weakens, corrupts, collapses and eventually falls back into dust.
However, the true nature of life – “spirit”, will not disappear. It flows out of our body, turning into eternity and lives on in the universe, in our belief, and in our heart.

In this project, I try to capture the image of “life” with the evolution of leaves.

Leaves change their colors with time – from infant green to mature green, middle yellow, elderly red and finally dying dark brown.

These colors explicitly express the physical change on the body.

On the other hand, the spirit is depicted as obscure smoke implicitly surrounding the leaves.
The trail in the middle is symbolic of trace left by the river of time.
